I am a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Advanced Study in Bioethics in Muenster. My main areas of research are normative and applied ethics, as well as metaethics and the theories of reasoning and rationality. I am also interested in certain issues in the philosophy of law, metaphysics and the philosophy of language, as well as in Kant's moral theory and early modern political philosophy.
I did my graduate work at the University of St Andrews (M.Litt.) and at Humboldt University in Berlin, where I wrote a Ph.D. thesis on metaethical constructivism (click here for an abstract). At the moment, I am finishing the manuscript of a book entitled Constructing Practical Reasons (Oxford University Press). Another main focus of my current research is the moral relevance of consent. I am also a member of the DFG funded Research Network "Social Functions", where I am concerned with the normative dimension of functional characterizations in general and social functions in particular.
The best way to get in touch with me is by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
